National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day recognizes and appreciates small business owners each year on March 29. It is believed that the day was founded by Rick Segel in honor of his parents who successfully opened a hat shop in 1939 called Ruth’s in Everett, Massachusetts. The store grew into a 10,000 square feet store that brought $2 million dollars in revenue. Owning a business is a goal that many people dream of.
