The local Clean Air team at American Lung Association is sporting a new vehicle this year – a 2019 Ford Escape Flex Fuel. With room for five and a spacious back hatch, this vehicle will take the staff and all their gear to an array of promotional and educational events around the state.
Recently, it made the trek out to Hutchinson for an alternative fuel promotional event, where it filled up on E85 at one of the two stations that offers E85 in town. You can find a station near you that offers flex fuel blends here.
Given the need to carry lots of supplies and several staff, it was an easy decision to go with a flex fuel vehicle. The American Lung Association recognizes flex fuel vehicles as a Clean Air Choice® when fueled with E85 because of the significant reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and ozone forming pollutants. In fact, the use of E85 reduces, greenhouse gas emissions up to 34%, compared to regular gasoline. This helps us all breath a little better.
