Unleaded 88 sales in Minnesota in the first half of 2026 totaled 69.74 million gallons, according to the latest data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
For the month of June, Unleaded 88 sales totaled 12.13 million gallons, marginally lower than the 12.7 million gallons recorded in May as fewer stations reported their sales in June (413) than May (422).
At 12.13 million gallons, June’s volume was the second highest monthly volume this year, following record sales of 12.7 million gallons in May. Moreover, it was the second straight month Unleaded 88 sales in Minnesota exceeded the 12-million-gallon mark in 2026.
In comparison to a year earlier, Unleaded 88 sales in the first half of 2026 was comparable with the volume recorded in the first half of 2025 (71.5 million gallons). It was a similar case with volume sold in June 2026 and June 2025 (12.17 million gallons).
During the period, the Department of Commerce reports the average price difference between Unleaded 88 and regular 87 octane fuel was $0.15 a gallon.
