Minnesota drivers saved $9.05 million at the pump with Unleaded 88 during the first half of 2025, according to the latest data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
During the first six months of this year, the average price of regular 87 octane was $3 a gallon while the average price of Unleaded 88 was $2.87 a gallon – a savings of 13 cents a gallon.
According to the Minnesota Department of Commerce, 69.67 million gallons of Unleaded 88 was sold in Minnesota during the first half of 2025. With an average saving of 13 cents a gallon, the total volume sold from January to June yielded $9.05 million in savings at the pump for Minnesotans.
The Commerce Department also reports Unleaded 88 sales in June totaled 11.78 million gallons, slightly lower than the 12.2 million gallons sold in May. It should be noted, however, that only 389 stations reported their Unleaded 88 volume in June compared to 396 in May.
In fact, the average volume per station in June was 30,305.92 gallons while in May, it was 30,822.76 gallons.
