Caring for our air during National Public Health Week

April 4th, 2019

The first week in April is National Public Health Week, a time to recognize the ongoing efforts to make our country a healthier place to live. One of these efforts is the American Lung Association’s Clean Air program, which promotes less polluting fuels and vehicles.

For nearly 20 years, the American Lung Association in Minnesota has recognized E85 as a Clean Air Choice® that many drivers can use to reduce the air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions associated with motor vehicles. They educate the public about cleaner fuels in a number of ways, including advertising campaigns, fuel promotions at neighborhood stations, social media, and exhibits at public events such as the Minnesota State Fair.

Polluted air is a public health problem that is being tackled all over the world, and much of the pollution can be traced to vehicle emissions. Here in Minnesota, biofuels is one of the solutions we use to keep our air clean and healthy. Our efforts are working, according to our grades in American Lung Association’s State of the Air Report.
