The Minnesota Department of Commerce reports Unleaded 88 sales in August in Minnesota totaled 12.22 million gallons.
According to the report, the volume sold in August brings the total volume of Unleaded 88 sold in Minnesota from January to August to 94.42 million gallons, similar to the 95.15 million gallons sold over the same period in 2024.
In addition, the department reports the average price difference between Unleaded 88 and regular 87 octane fuel from January to August this year was 13 cents a gallon.
This amounted to savings of $12.27 million at the pump for Minnesotans.
Unleaded 88 sales in August was the fourth month sales have exceeded the 12-million-gallon mark in 2025 (the other months were in January, May and July).
