Love Your Fuel This Valentine’s Day

February 13th, 2021 April Fuels Day

It doesn’t matter whether you are single or taken this Valentine’s Day – we have a proposition for you, if you can find a little more room in your heart.

How about loving your fuel? This is an idea that no florist or card company can compete with because it actually SAVES you money. And while we all enjoy indulging in chocolates and the chalky conversation heart candies, there is a healthier way to observe Valentine’s Day.

Choosing higher blends of ethanol like E85 and Unleaded 88 has many benefits for you, the economy, and the environment. What could be more LOVE-ly than that?

E85 is a blend of up to 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. You will find it at more than 425 stations across Minnesota. Any Flex fuel vehicle can use E85 or other ethanol blend.

88 Octane, also known as Unleaded 88 or E15, is a blend of 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline.

Fall in love with ethanol

Clean: Ethanol produces significantly fewer greenhouse gas emissions than conventional gasoline.

Renewable: Starch from corn is the most common feedstock used to create the ethanol.

Local: Minnesota ranks fourth in the United States for ethanol production, while 75% of the petroleum used in Minnesota is sourced from the Tar Sands of western Canada. This means that for every dollar spent on ethanol rather than conventional gasoline, more money stays in the local economy and helps to support Minnesota farmers and ethanol producers.

High Performance: Ethanol has a much higher octane than the octane rating of conventional gasoline. In fact, because the characteristics of ethanol fuel help to boost power, E100 is used in IndyCar racing. EPA Vehicles 2001 or Newer

Unleaded 88 is approved for use in all model year 2001 and newer vehicles by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency – that’s nearly 9 out of 10 cars on the road today.

This fuel has a higher octane rating than regular 87 octane fuel, offering your engine a boost, and it burns cleaner than regular unleaded, improving our air quality and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It is also typically offered at a lower price.

So no matter how you’ll be spending this bitterly cold Valentine’s Day, warm your heart by choosing one of these higher ethanol blends for your vehicle.
