Burnsville, Apr 15 – Unleaded 88’s average discount to 87 octane fuel in 2024 yielded $24.26 million in savings at the pump for Minnesota drivers.
According to data from the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Unleaded 88 was priced, on average, 17 cents per gallon less than 87 octane in 2024.
Last year, the annual volume of Unleaded 88 in Minnesota totaled 142.75 million gallons – a new record.
Over a three-year period from 2022 to 2024, Unleaded 88 saved Minnesotans $62.66 million at the pump.
In January of this year, the average price of Unleaded 88 was 15 cents per gallon less than 87 octane, resulting in $1.8 million in savings for Minnesota drivers.
Last year’s record volume of Unleaded 88 sold in Minnesota coincided with the growth in stations offering Unleaded 88 in the state. In late 2024, Minnesota became the first state in the nation to have over 500 Unleaded 88 stations.
Meanwhile, we will launch a seven-month Unleaded 88 promotional campaign at gas stations in the Twin Cities metro area next week.
On April 22, we will team up with KS95 FM at a Holiday station at 7201 Bass Lake Road in New Hope to promote Unleaded 88 from 11 am to 1 pm.
Drivers who fuel up with Unleaded 88 during the promotion will not only save at the pump but win prizes such as $20 in cash, Minnesota United tickets, St Paul Saints tickets, Applebee’s gift cards and other merchandise.
